Your phone
Pair your phone with your computer once. It pings you when an agent needs you, and you answer, approve or merge right there. Your computer does the work. Nothing runs on the phone.
Pair it
You need Relay running on your computer first. Then, on that computer, run:
npx tryharness phone pairIt shows a QR code. Scan it with your phone’s camera. The code works once, for 10 minutes. On the page that opens, sign in, name the phone, and press Pair with your computer.
After that, your phone’s Harness lives at tryharness.ai/m. It installs from the browser, with no app store: on iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Notifications
Once it is on your home screen, press Turn on notices. A notice only ever says “Something needs you” or “Something you asked for finished”. The details stay sealed until you open the app.
What you can do
The home screen groups your work into Needs you, Your agents, In progress and Recent threads.
- Approve or answer. Run or Approve work an agent asked for, or type an answer and Send answer.
- Follow a thread. Reply, Stop this thread or Resume it, and Show changes, Merge or Discard coding work. Merging needs your computer connected.
- Talk to any agent. Open one to see its session and message it.
- Start something new with Message your agents or New task.
If your computer is asleep, what you send waits, sealed, and is delivered when it wakes. Waiting messages are kept for up to 7 days. You can withdraw one before then.
Privacy
Messages between your phone and your computer are sealed end to end. The key that seals them travels only in the QR code, so Harness carries them and cannot read them. Harness does see which account and device a message belongs to, its size and its timing.
Tasks for agents that run on Harness’s server, like Bankr and Quotient, are read by that server to do the work. The phone tells you so when you hand one over.
Remove a phone
On the phone, press Disconnect this phone. From your computer, list phones with
npx tryharness phone list and remove one with npx tryharness phone revoke <id>. Removing a
phone ends its key. You can also disconnect phones in Settings → Tools & connections → Agents →
phones and browsers.
