Skills

Skills give Harness focused, specialized abilities on top of its core reasoning. A skill teaches Harness how to do a particular thing well and, when relevant, how to reach a specific service to do it.

How skills work

You switch on the skills you want in Settings → Tools & connections → Skills. When a request fits one, Harness loads that skill’s instructions and follows them, and for skills that call an external service, it makes that call through a fenced, allowlisted path. Harness does not turn skills on by guessing.

The skills library

The library is mirrored live from the Bankr skills repository, so new skills appear as they are published. Search it, filter it, and switch skills on one at a time.

• Research and market-data skills run right in chat.
• Wallet skills (trading, transfers, payouts) run through your Bankr agent, under the limits you set there. Anything with real consequences asks for your confirmation first.

Your own skills

When something you taught Harness works well, it can offer to save it as a skill of your own. You review the whole draft and choose Save skill, or update one you already have. Only that approval writes it. Your skills are stored on your device and listed under Your skills on the same Settings page, where you can read or remove them. Connected servers

You can also give Harness tools from a remote MCP server, like Linear, Notion or GitHub. They are set up on the same Settings page; see Connections (MCP).
