Skills

Skills give Harness focused, specialized abilities on top of its core reasoning. A skill teaches Harness how to do a particular thing well and, when relevant, how to reach a specific service to do it.

How skills work

You enable the skills you want from the skills library. When a request matches one, Harness loads that skill’s instructions and follows them, and for skills that call an external service, it makes that call through a fenced, allowlisted path. You stay in control of which skills are enabled.

The skills library

The library is a curated, verified catalog. Enabling a skill is a deliberate choice you make; Harness does not turn skills on by guessing. Skills that carry out actions with real consequences are gated behind explicit confirmation.
