Chat & the PiP

Harness lives in a small picture-in-picture window that stays on top while you work, so help is one glance away without switching apps or losing your place. It is the same conversation whether you start it on the home page, in the window, or from a page with the extension.

Harness runs in desktop Chromium browsers (Chrome, Brave, Arc, Edge), which have the picture-in-picture window and screen sharing it needs.

The window

Ask a question and get an answer grounded in what is in front of you, then keep moving. The window also holds:

• Several chats at once, in tabs.
• History, to go back to earlier conversations.
• Your swarm, your agents and threads. See Harness Relay.
• Work, the background tasks running for you.
• Your wallet, if you use Bankr, and the model picker.

Fast by design

Everyday questions are answered directly and quickly from the screen and your memory. When a question needs more, Harness reaches for the right capability (your screen history, the web, a page in your browser, one of your agents, or deeper reasoning) rather than padding a simple answer.

Steer while it works

You do not have to wait for an answer to finish. Type while Harness is working (“Steer this task…”) and it takes your message into account on its next step.

A running answer keeps going on the server if your connection drops, and picks up again when you are back. It also carries on if you close the window and open it again.

Background tasks

For longer work, Harness can offer to run it in the background, on a card with Start or Not now. A background task runs on the server, keeps going after you close the tab, and delivers its result into the conversation. Follow it in the Work panel. Up to 3 can run at once. Background tasks are a Resident feature.

Files

Attach documents and images to a message, and ask Harness to make documents, images and video. See Files, images & video.

Sessions

Your conversations are kept so you can pick a thread back up where you left off. Resident adds encrypted backup, restore, and device handoff for the on-device record; it is not live multi-device synchronization. See Privacy & your data.
