$HARNESS utility

$HARNESS is the token behind Harness, on Base. It has two concrete uses today, both optional: you never need the token to use Harness, and everything the token does can also be done with a card.

What the token does

• Hold to unlock Resident. Hold the required amount of $HARNESS and the Resident plan unlocks while you hold it, as an alternative to paying monthly. See Hold to unlock.
• Pay for credit with $HARNESS. Top up your managed-inference credit by paying in $HARNESS instead of by card. See Pay with $HARNESS.

Both are alternatives to the card path, not extra requirements. Open stays free, and Resident is reachable either by card or by holding.

How it is verified

Everything the token does is verified by Harness reading the chain directly, never by trusting a claim from your browser. When you link a wallet you prove ownership with a signature, and from then on your balance and your payments are confirmed on-chain by the server.

What is not promised yet

Staking, conviction rewards, grants, and referral mechanics are on the roadmap, not shipped. The token utility that is live today is hold-to-unlock and pay-with-$HARNESS, plus the burn. This page will grow as more ships.
